Mount Isana is located very close to the centre of the city of Nagasaki. On its observation deck, located at the very top of the 333 mountain, you have one of the most stunning 360 degrees night views of Japan. You can access the place by car or bus, but the best and most romantic way is to use the ropeway.

Ropeway Access

Katsufuchi Shrine Station

Once you arrive at the final bus stop on the, note that there will be a 15-minute walk to get to the observation deck.

Access By Taxi or Car

A taxi ride costs about ¥2,000 one way from the Nagasaki station and takes 15 minutes. If you go by car, there is a parking at the top which costs ¥100.

Hikari Restaurant

If you want to relax a little and have a bite, you have a coffee, light meal or drink at the Hikari Restaurant, located on the 2F of the observation tower. The food is mostly western style and not too expensive (below ¥2,000). There is a dining bar too. You can reserve private rooms for groups of 4 or more if you take a special course of ¥5,000 and over. The view from the large windows is simply stunning.

Lastly...

Mount Inasa is one of the must-go places in Nagasaki, and one of the iconic night views of Japan. Going there by day is also very worth it because the view changes with the weather.

Once you're done with this sightseeing and have worked up an appetite, you might want to indulge in Nagasaki's most famous food: the Nagasaki Champon! See the link below for our food guide.
