If you're vegan or vegetarian, these are the best restos to try in Shinjuku, Tokyo! Japanese cuisine, Western cuisine, Indian, etc.

Feel free to follow favy!

Vegan Restaurants

It's a tiny restaurant with a nice and welcoming atmosphere. Kiboko is an unpretentious restaurant where you can enjoy vegan cuisine prepared with the uttermost case and fine organic ingredients.
There are many tasty tapas to try at this restaurant; from the wine to the seasonal vegetables, everything is selected carefully. The Spanish omelette and the coriander gyozas are a must-try.
There is an English menu!

AIN SOPH. Journey

One of the sister branches of AIN SOPH. GINZA, this place has more of a cafe atmosphere. Located right next to Nishi Shinjuku Sanchoume station, you can enjoy their vegetable dishes as well as vegan desserts. If you are in Shinjuku and looking for a vegan place to eat, you should check this out. One of the signature dishes at this resto is the heavenly fluffy pancakes.

A healthy food cafe located 3 minutes away by walk from Okubo station, this place offers a variety of dishes such as pasta, curry and more, at a reasonable price. Lunch is served until 2:30 PM, then it is only open for tea time, where they serve coffee/tea and sweets.

Their burgers are a must-try here. There are 4 kinds of burgers to choose from: the ripple burger, the ripple cheeseburger, the soy chicken burger and the falafel burger. They're all delicious, but the ripple cheeseburger might be the most popular dish. Burgers are 1,000-1,250 yen. You can have a soup or french fries for 200 yen more.

Vegetarian-Friendly Restaurants

Shinjuku Gyoen Ramen Ouka

This restaurant opened in 2016 with a concern for those who have dietary restrictions, but still want to enjoy delicious ramen. It is still rather rare to be able to enjoy Halal or vegan ramen in Japan.
For vegan patrons, there are two types of ramens to choose from, spicy or not spicy. It's topped with loads of veggies and is super tasty.

Ashoka Indian Restaurant

Ashoka is a five-minute walk from Nishishinjuku station. It offers great food and hospitality. Vegetarian options are quite limited in Japan, so this place is perfect in order to please everyone in the group. The food is simply amazing and some even claim it's the best Indian restaurant they've ever been to!
Lunch starts at ¥950 and includes curry, naan or rice, a salad and a cup of coffee. Great deal!
There is also a buffet for those who are hungry and want a bang for their buck.
